We have several different sizes of extendable tables in our outdoor dining range, starting with 4-6 seater tables right up to 12-14 seaters. The size of the table can be changed using the extending sections cleverly built into the table.
The extending sections are located within the table and when required can be folded out to make the table bigger. Our extending tables will either have a single extension or two extension sections (hence the term double extending).
Parasol use with extending tables
The single extending table has the parasol hole drilled through the centre of its extension section, allowing use of a parasol when the table is folded out into the extended position. Please be aware that if the single extending table is not in its extended form, you will not be able to use a parasol. Our customers usually purchase the single extending option if the table is to be located in a shaded area, under a pergola for example and therefore they don’t typically need the use of a parasol – it’s just there as an option when extended.
Double extending tables have a flush fixed centre bar built into the centre of the table. This has the drilled parasol hole in it, and then the two extending sections fold out either side of this fixed centre bar. Therefore, double extending tables always allow you to use a parasol.
With our double extending tables, you effectively have the option of three different table sizes, i.e. not extended, one section extended or both sections out making the table fully extended.
Double or single extending table length options – you choose
We offer extending tables that are virtually the same size (length) in either single and double extending design.
The single extending table is typically one large extension measuring approximately 50cm and the double extending usually has two narrower extending sections each measuring approximately 20cm (50cm in total when combined with the 10cm central strut).
Weathering tip
Unless you always use a table covering when entertaining, we recommend leaving an extending table fully extended. If you don’t, the extension sections will weather differently to the rest of the table as they will be more protected from the elements when folded within the table.
If you have any questions at all about our extending tables, please don’t hesitate to contact us – we would be happy to hear from you.
