Where is Kingsley Smythe furniture designed and made?
Our furniture is designed in the UK. We work closely with our factory partners in Indonesia and have recently expanded production to include selected outsourcing in China. Every item meets our strict quality, ethical and environmental standards.
Who are Kingsley Smythe and what makes your furniture different?
Kingsley Smythe creates premium outdoor furniture crafted from sustainably sourced teak and eco-friendly Plasteak®. Each piece combines timeless British design with exceptional durability, built to last for years of outdoor enjoyment.
Is Kingsley Smythe furniture sustainable?
Yes. We use responsibly sourced teak and fully recycled Plasteak® materials. Our focus is on longevity and reducing environmental impact — furniture designed to last, not landfill.
Do you have a Showroom?
We exhibit at leading home and garden shows throughout the UK. Visits are by appointment only, and you can view our full collection online or contact us for upcoming show dates.
Do you offer trade or hospitality accounts?
Yes. We work with designers, hotels and hospitality venues. Trade enquiries are welcome via our contact form.
Do you offer finance or staged payments?
Yes. We offer interest-free credit via Omni Capital which allows you to spread the cost of your purchase over a 10-month period. We also have flexible options for spreading payments via PayPal’s “Pay in 3” and through Klarna.

Are your products covered by a warranty?
All Kingsley Smythe furniture is covered by our 12-month manufacturer’s warranty. Full details are available on our Warranty page.

Product & Quality
What materials are used in your furniture?
We use premium, sustainably sourced teak hardwood and our exclusive Plasteak® recycled-plastic material. Both are durable, weather-resistant and low-maintenance.
What is Plasteak® and how is it made?
Plasteak® is our innovative, eco-friendly material made from recycled plastic. It replicates the natural grain and warmth of real wood without the need for ongoing maintenance.
Is recycled-plastic furniture weatherproof?
Yes. Plasteak® is UV-stabilised, fade-resistant and waterproof, making it ideal for year-round outdoor use.
What is the difference between teak and Plasteak®?
Teak is a natural hardwood with rich grain and warmth, while Plasteak® offers a completely maintenance-free alternative made from 100% recycled materials.
Are your products handmade?
Many elements are hand-finished by skilled craftsmen to ensure strength, precision and a flawless finish.
What’s the difference between single- and double-extending tables?
A single-extending table has one central extension section. When the extension is closed, the parasol hole is not accessible.
A double-extending table includes a fixed centre bar that holds the parasol hole and two narrower extensions on either side. This design allows you to open one side for extra space or both sides to fully extend the table — giving maximum flexibility when entertaining.
Do stacking chairs fully push under the table?
With most of our extending tables, stacking chairs do not push fully under the table due to the leg design.
Can I change the chair style in a set?
Yes, we can often customise your order to include your preferred chair style. Please contact us before checkout.
Can I order extra chairs later?
Yes, additional matching chairs are available. Please contact us for more information.
Do I need to buy a parasol base separately?
Most of our tables have a built-in parasol base. For our folding tables, we recommend using a separate parasol base for stability.
Can I use a Lazy Susan when the parasol is in the table?
Yes, provided the parasol pole diameter is compatible with the table’s centre hole.
How many stacking chairs can be safely stacked?
Up to four stacking chairs can be safely stacked at one time.
Can I take my furniture apart?
Once your furniture has been assembled, we do not recommend dismantling it.
Sustainability & Materials
Is your teak sustainably sourced?
Yes. Our teak is responsibly sourced from regulated plantations and fully compliant with international sustainability standards.
Is Plasteak® recyclable?
Yes. Plasteak® is made from recycled plastic and can be recycled again at the end of its long life.
What are the environmental benefits of Kingsley Smythe furniture?

Do you use recyclable packaging?
Yes, we minimise single-use plastics and use recyclable packaging wherever possible.
Ordering & Payment
How do I place an order?
Simply add items to your basket and proceed through our secure online checkout, or call our team to place an order by phone.
Can I amend or cancel my order before delivery?
Yes, provided the order hasn’t been dispatched. Please contact us as soon as possible to make any changes.
My card isn’t being accepted — what should I do?
Check that your billing details match your bank records, or alternatively contact our team by phone for assistance.
The checkout won’t accept my postcode — what now?
If your postcode isn’t recognised, please contact our sales team to process your order manually.
Do you offer trade discounts or volume pricing?
Yes, we offer trade accounts and bulk-order discounts on request.
Can I order now and delay delivery?
Yes. We can hold your order in our warehouse until your preferred delivery date.
Do prices include VAT?
Yes, all prices shown include VAT unless otherwise stated.
Do you deliver internationally or to the islands?
We deliver across mainland UK and can quote separately for Ireland, the Isle of Wight and other destinations.
Can you deliver on a specific day?
Where possible, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferred delivery date.
What if I’m moving house?
We can hold or redirect your delivery if notified in advance.
Delivery and installation
How long is delivery?
Delivery usually takes between 7–21 working days, depending on stock and location.
How will I know when to expect my delivery?
You’ll receive confirmation with your scheduled delivery date once arranged.
Do you offer installation or assembly?
Yes, our team can deliver, assemble and position your furniture ready for use.
How long does assembly take?
Most tables take approximately 20–30 minutes to assemble.
What if there’s limited access?
Please let us know in advance. Our delivery team will plan accordingly or provide alternative options.
What if I’m not home on delivery day?
If you’re not available, we can leave the goods in a safe location or complete assembly if access has been arranged and you’re happy for the team to proceed.
Will you remove packaging?
Yes, if you choose our installation service, we remove all packaging materials.
Can you deliver into the garden or upstairs?
Yes, with safe access. Please advise us of any restrictions before delivery.
Aftercare & Maintenance
Please note: Applying any sealants, oils or treatments within the first 12 months of purchase will void your Kingsley Smythe warranty.
Do I need to treat teak furniture?
No treatment is necessary, but you may apply teak oil or sealer after the warranty period if you prefer to maintain the golden tone.
Does the furniture contain oil?
Yes. Teak naturally contains protective oils that make it resistant to weather and rot.
Will the furniture change colour?
Yes. Over time, teak will weather to a beautiful silvery patina — this is completely natural.
How can I restore the original colour?
Lightly sand the surface and apply a teak cleaner or brightener to restore the golden hue.
How do I clean my garden furniture?
Use warm soapy water and a soft brush to remove dirt. Avoid harsh chemicals or pressure washers.
How do I remove mould or stains?
A mild bleach solution or specialist teak cleaner will remove most surface marks.
Should I cover my furniture in winter?
Covers are optional but recommended to protect against dirt and debris. Ensure covers are breathable.
Can I leave my furniture outside all year?
Yes. Both teak and Plasteak® are designed for year-round outdoor use.
Can I leave the parasol in the table?
We recommend removing parasols during high winds or storms.
Are the cushions waterproof?
Our cushions are shower-resistant, not fully waterproof. Store them indoors during prolonged rain.
Are the cushions washable?
Cushions should be spot-cleaned only. We do not recommend machine washing.
Can I buy replacement cushions or covers?
Replacement cushions are available to purchase; covers alone are not sold separately.
Warranty, Repairs & Returns
What does the warranty cover?
Our warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship under normal residential use.
How long is the warranty?
Kingsley Smythe furniture carries a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty from the date of delivery.
How do I make a warranty claim?
Contact our sales team with your order number, photographs and a description of the issue.
What if I notice a problem after delivery?
Please inform us within 7 days of delivery. We’ll arrange a review and resolve where necessary.
What is your returns policy?
You may return unused furniture within 14 days of delivery for a refund, subject to our full terms and conditions.
