Kingsley Smythe – 12-Month Product Assurance
Every Kingsley Smythe piece is designed with lasting craftsmanship in mind. We take great care to ensure our furniture leaves us in perfect condition and performs as it should once in your home or garden.
We provide a 12-month assurance from the date of delivery, covering any manufacturing issue that affects the use or structure of the product.
This applies only to faults in materials or workmanship, not to natural variations or age-related changes.
Natural Materials & Characteristics
Our furniture is primarily handcrafted from solid teak, a natural material that matures over time.
As it adjusts to its surroundings, fine hairline lines, small surface cracks or minor colour shifts may appear. These are part of the natural weathering process and do not compromise the strength, safety, or lifespan of the furniture. They are therefore not considered faults.
Care After Delivery
Once your delivery has been accepted, the responsibility for ongoing maintenance and care sits with the customer.
We cannot be held responsible for:
- Fine hairline splits/openings, small surface cracks or minor uneven colour shifts
- Dirt, stains, mildew, or marks caused by everyday use or weather exposure.
- Transfer of natural oils from the timber onto cushions, paving, clothing, or other surfaces.
- Transfer of natural oils/surface dirt from the timber onto cushions, paving, clothing or other surfaces.
- Damage caused by neglect, incorrect storage, misuse, or cleaning with unsuitable products.
- Cushions that have been machine washed or altered.
Failure to follow care recommendations may void the warranty.
What We’ll Do
If an issue covered under this assurance arises within the 12-month period, we will inspect and—at our discretion—repair or replace the affected item.
Replacements will match the original design and finish as closely as possible.
If in the event the item that needs repairing or replacing is discontinued, Kingsley Smythe will provide the closest match to the original item
As each product is treated individually, a fault affecting one piece of a set will not extend to the entire set.
We do not offer refunds or financial alternatives to a repair or replacement.
What Isn’t Covered
This assurance does not extend to:
- Products used or shipped outside the UK.
- Items that have been painted, treated, modified, damaged, dismantled, or adapted in any way.
- Bespoke or made-to-order items.
- Complimentary gift items.
Submitting a Claim
If you believe your furniture has developed a fault covered under this assurance, please contact our Customer Care Team by email with:
- Clear photographs of the area of concern, and
- Your order reference or proof of purchase.
We’ll acknowledge receipt within seven working days and guide you through the review process.
All claims are handled as quickly and fairly as possible to reach a suitable outcome.
